O.k. so I'll give this a shot. I've got a small window of time between quilt guild which I go to each Thurs.and a relief society meeting to see if can tell a bit about me. Lets see I grew up in upstate New York, No, really Up state 50 miles from the Canadian border and so am a country girl that likes the simple things in life. I truly miss the home of my child hood in the fall. The colors in the east are not to be compared any where. I met and dated my wonderful husband in high school and we've been married for almost 32 years.
We lived in Pa. for most of those years. Till we moved to Utah about6 years ago. To be closer to our grandchildren. Yes, I have 6 wonderful grandchildren. And 4 fabulous children. Three daughters all married and the source of the grandchildren.
Nicole, our oldest, and Chris live in Salt Lake and have two beautiful girls. You can read about them on Nicole's blog.
Jennifer, our second born who got me into this, and Dallas live in Reno the have three energetic children a boy and two little girls ,They are the delight and source of much entertainment that you can read all about on Jen's blog.
Next is Crystal, our third, and Tom live in Texas they have an incredible girl. She is to busy to blog but we're hoping that once she sees I can do this that she'll jump on also.
This brings us to Patrick our son and the youngest, not married yet. He also has a blog site to keep up on his life. These are the people that make each day worth waking up to.
I have been into many hobbies over the years, mostly on the creative side. Since moving to Utah I have all but left most of them on the wayside. Still paint some but my new hobbies quilting. Actually it is more than a hobby it's more of an obsession, maybe even an addiction. But I love it and as soon as I get better at this I'll start including pictures of my handiwork. I've made baby quilts , and twin size quilts for each of the grand children, I owe the youngest her big girl quilt once she moves into her big girl bed. The problem is that I enjoy quilting so much that I have many started and keep seeing new patterns I've got to try all the time. Last count I had like 40 unfinished projects. So for the last year and a half I try to finish up 1 project before I start a new one and then finish the new project also then I'm free to begin another. Well that's what I'm trying to do anyway.
We enjoy it here in Cedar City. There is really lots to do here with many nearby national parks,as well as lots of wonderful places to hike nearby. We also have the Shakespear festival each year. Last year I volunteered to usher at the Randal Theater and plan to again this year. It is fun and I get tickets to see some shows. This year is going to be incredible and I want to see them all.
I am also the second counselor for young women's at church. This means I am over the 12 and 13 year old girls. We teach a lesson on Sundays, and then have an activity once a week. July will be a very busy month as we have Girls camp and a trek planned. So my life is full at the moment.
Well it is a gorgeous day and Ron asked me to go for a ride with him. I love riding on the motorcycle with him so I'm off.
