So when you are a fairly active person and you get laid off what do you do with your time? Well for the first couple weeks Ron helped a buddy restore a vehicle. But once they got it painted Brian decided to do the interior with his daughter, it will be her car. So this left Ron with no project to keep him busy. He wasn't liking the result of watching TV reruns. So he did a little going over his trucks fixing little problems. That done he decided that we'd remodel our bathroom, for Christmas. Friday morning I woke up at 5 am and decided to clean out the bathroom, That done it was a trip to Home Depot with a friend Scott to pick out the tile.
The tile picked out, and all the supplies bought it was home and time to rip out the vinyl flooring....
Have you ever noticed that a home improvement always has a surprise or two... well the shower door has not closed tight since we moved in and the result was this floor issue, so it had to be cut out and replaced.
That fixed it was onward ... Next it was time to lay down the board that goes under the tile
In the mean time ... I have been working on quilting my Hunter Star quilt for a week and a half, funny me I have three queen size quilts I had hoped to have quilted for the quilt retreat that starts on the 20th. Granted a bit lofty a goal when you are the retreat chairman. And have received over 40 registrations in the last week and a half, trying to get all them on the computer, Get the teachers informed so they can inform the students, get rooms reserved for said teachers, Talk with Gary, hotel manager about class room needs, as well as all other arrangements, vendor's finalized, vendor areas measured, talking local businesses into donating awesome door prizes, and setting up a masseuse to give neck and back massages at the retreat. I have got some helpers but I will be less stressed out in February.
So we were on our way home right.. No silly we went by the hospital to visit one of the young men, His Birthday was yesterday turned 16 years and had surgery, to have cancer removed from his neck. Kinda sucks right, Well Eric is a real trouper, keep him in your prayers. He had to be in the hospital at 8:30 am so he went and took his drivers test on the way. Yes, he passed. Anyway after we visited a bit it was 7 Pm and so stopped to eat and by the time we got home you guessed it the ambition had left the building. Which brings us to today...
As for me I got three more registrations, Had to contact three more teachers, THANKS JEN you saved me much stress, and countless hours by walking me through creating new files and e-mailing them. I got the second section done on my Hunter star so now have one more section to quilt and than the borders and binding yee-haw light at the end of the tunnel. And I had time to update my blog and read your comments. By the way the gloves help me grip my quilt better, so no we are not living in sub-temperatures funny girl. Tune in for updates on the bathroom, and my run for the crazy room on the 7th floor.
