So, Finally the retreat is here. With the classes set vender's all setup and were ready to go.
It actually turned out really awesome and I had a good time as things went really smoothly.
We had great teachers and classes again this year, and added an extra day to the schedule.
There were some all day classes and some 1/2 day classes to please the multitudes.
I even took a couple classes the Buzz saw which was one of our more popular classes
Sue is enjoying her Hunter star class.
Ron even took a class on the feeding and care of your Featherweight.
My second class was Radiant Sunshine and Shadows with our international
teacher Helen Young Frost. It was great and she is such a neat lady.
The retreat went from Wednesday the 20th thru Saturday the 23rd
I even taught a 1/2 day class on Wednesday afternoon. And by the
comment cards a good time was had by all.
This was a hands on crazy quilt stitching class.
There was much sewing and we had a couple trunk shows
in the afternoon between classes. One was a show and tell from
past retreat projects. Hope to make that a tradition.
And then on Friday afternoon we had a wonderful trunk show by
Blanche Young. It was delightful as always but as she is almost 91 will
probably be one of her last.
Friday night started with a magic show By Helen Frost ...
This year we had our own massage therapist which was way wonderful
Reggie took appointments for a ten min session and was ubber busy.
And our ever famous all night sew / pj party began
As usual it was really fun we had plenty of door prizes, snacks...
fun times and we really got pretty silly, Liz seems to be havin too much fun...
And as usual the Payson girls kept us in stitches thru out the night...
We gave up about 3:30 am but we had several who stayed up till 5:30 am
And were back for 10:00am classes on Saturday.
More from the all night sew.
Lynette and Helen at all night sew
Dale a last minute registrant who totally enjoyed the retreat and will
be back next year he sent Liz a really nice thank you e-mail.
Then at 1:45 pm the end of the retreat we had the drawing for our opportunity quilt. Which was won by our own guild member Kathy Fazio. So the retreat is over for another year. It was a huge success and we made a good profit so that is good hopefully we can have a national teacher come to the guild this year with some of the profits.
Their is a post note I am done as far as the retreat goes I have been chairman for two years and I got all the paperwork done and a time line and such thanks to Linda and so turned over all to Liz for next years chairman. I will probably help out but mostly want to go and just enjoy.
