Hiking the Lower Calf Creek Falls

We got up and by the time breakfast was done and cleaned
up we loaded up the vehicles and were on our way to the hike
area. Our trusty driver Sister Pectol at the wheel.

back seat: Tyler, Austin, Gerold
The road was narrow and curvy and high...
but the scenery was pretty
So it entertained me a bit.
Once we Got to the parking area and took a quick head count
we headed out, Problem #1 was that it was 10:30 am and already
warm and I decided to start out last...
The scenery was gorgeous,... but the trail was mostly sand
with actually pretty evenly up and down hills. but it was warm
and a three mile hike and I am so not in shape. so proved to be
almost to much, I think I got a bit over heated before reaching
the end, which was actually only half way as then we need to hike
back out.
So decided to concentrate on the hike and take pics on way out.
But after the long hot hike and 2 water bottles later and an hour
after the rest reached it we turned a corner to find...
This beautiful waterfall and refreshing pool to cool down in
and enjoy the lunches we'd packed.
Brother Giles got my kerchief wet and after putting it around
my head and soaking my feet I felt much better. I ate some of
my lunch but not really hungry drank more water and the Bishop
had brought his water filter to fill everyone's water supply for the
return trip.
Then it was time to rest and enjoy the beauty that surrounded us
This is most of the 50 of us that had hiked in...
And this was the big rush in to swim to the falls and back...
Yes it was refreshing being that it was really hot by now but this
was mt. run off so really really cold.But most of them plunged in
anyway and in the video below you will see several of the men went
the distance.
Seconds anyone... a few brave souls...
It really is pretty.
